Hunter safety & ethics
Every member accepts these rules. They are not advice.
Safety rules
- Treat every firearm as loaded.
- Unload and break the gun when crossing ground, fences or vehicles.
- Know your target and what is behind it. Never shoot towards roads, houses, livestock or people.
- No alcohol before or during hunting.
- Wear visible clothing and keep a safe distance between hunters.
- Store firearms and ammunition securely, as required by law.
Licensing reminders
- A valid Cyprus hunting licence and the required firearm permit must be carried in the field.
- Check each season's dates, species and permitted areas before you go out.
- Respect bag limits and keep to permitted hunting days.
Code of conduct
- Ask before entering private land and leave gates as you found them.
- Take your cartridges and rubbish home.
- Do not disturb livestock, beehives or crops.
- Keep dogs under control.
- Report illegal hunting to the competent authorities.
