Safety & Firearms Responsibility Policy
Responsibility
Each member is personally responsible for their firearm at all times, and for holding the licences and permits required by Cyprus law.
Handling
- Treat every firearm as loaded.
- Point the muzzle in a safe direction at all times.
- Unload and break the gun when crossing obstacles or entering a vehicle.
- Identify the target and what lies beyond it before firing.
- No shooting towards roads, buildings, livestock, vehicles or people.
- No alcohol or impairing substances before or during hunting.
Storage and transport
Firearms and ammunition are stored securely and separately at home, as required by law, and transported unloaded and cased.
Incidents
Any accident or near miss during a club activity must be reported to the Board immediately and, where the law requires it, to the Police.
