1. Our commitment
Every child has the right to take part free from abuse, neglect, bullying, harassment and discrimination. The welfare of the child is our first consideration.
2. Safer adults
Youth-facing staff and volunteers are selected through interviews, references and background checks appropriate under Latvian law. They receive safeguarding and role-specific training.
3. Safe practice
We use visible training spaces, two-adult supervision where practical, attendance records, age-appropriate instruction, equipment checks, hydration breaks and graduated contact. Private adult-child messaging and unsanctioned transport are prohibited.
4. Reporting and response
Anyone may report a concern confidentially. The welfare lead records, assesses and escalates concerns to emergency services, police, social services or other competent authorities when required. Retaliation against a reporter is prohibited.
5. Photography and communication
Guardian consent is required before identifiable images of minors are used. Images must preserve dignity and may not include sensitive personal information.
6. Review
The board reviews this policy annually and after any serious incident. Coaches, families and young athletes are invited to raise improvements.
